March Moto Madness Greece 2019 — ADV Rally
March Moto Madness has long grown beyond its American origins. By 2019 it had become a world-spanning off-road gathering, unfolding simultaneously across dozens of countries and bringing together riders who believe spring should begin with dust, throttle, and shared adventure. In Greece, the event reached a new level. Mythical Routes, supported by Most Wanted Warehouse, welcomed a diverse community of riders and teams—BMW Vagianelis, GS Traveler, Enduro Greece, the Heg Team, Naxos Adventure Rally, and friends who travelled from every corner of the country.
The energy was unmistakable: this was the year the bar moved higher.
The setting remained familiar yet always special: The Ranch in Sofiko, Corinthia—a wide, pine-dotted valley with open terrain, clean air, and enough space for motorcycles, laughter, and the occasional late-night story.
A Community in Full Momentum
Riders arrived with purpose. Skills were sharper, bikes were better prepared, and the communication between participants and organizers—Angelo and Paris Baltoyannis, the “Balto Bros”—felt effortless. Everyone came to ride, to learn, and to contribute to a global tradition that still belongs to real people, real terrain, and real adventure.
This edition also carried the imprint of BMW Motorrad, supported in the U.S. by the GS Giants and in Greece by BMW Vagianelis SA and GS Traveler. Riders had access to GS rental motorcycles, test rides on the latest models, and off-road coaching from official BMW Motorrad Instructor Vassilis Boudros, whose calm technique and precision set the tone for the days ahead.
Inside the Saloon, KLIM and Enduristan products were on display for riders to handle, discuss, and critique—a direct exchange between manufacturers and those who truly use their gear in the field.
Saturday — Dust, Pace, and That Signature Corinthian Terrain
The Adventure Tour gave everyone what they came for: real off-road riding, suitable for big-bore twins but demanding enough to keep every participant honest. The first loop—around 80 kilometers—was flowing and approachable, but the rocky Corinthian soil quickly reminded newcomers that momentum is a friend and hesitation is not. Veterans played with the surface; new riders learned it. The group advanced through pine forest, low ridgelines, and quiet chapels that have watched over this terrain for centuries.

Later in the afternoon, an optional second loop added another 35–40 kilometers with more character: tighter passages, deeper stones, and a detour to a beach of large white shingles. The sight of big GS motorcycles rolling beside the sea is something that stays with you—dust on helmets, sea spray in the air, engines cooling while riders stared at the horizon.
The day ended in Korfos harbor, with food, conversation, and the kind of quiet satisfaction that only comes after a demanding day on the bike.
Behind the scenes, BMW Vagianelis provided seamless technical support—including a rapid rescue after a torn tire—a reminder that teamwork is not an accessory in events like this; it’s part of the fabric.
Sunday — Skills, Balance, and That Famous Rodeo Bull
Sunday began with a twist. Before anyone lined up on the obstacle course, riders had to tame the mechanical rodeo bull at The Ranch to determine starting order. Laughter filled the valley—exactly the type of moment that turns strangers into friends.

Then came the Skills Event: A tight, technical course built for large twin-cylinder machines—R1200GS, R1250GS, and the big adventure giants this rally is known for. Despite their size, the big bikes posted times close to the light single-cylinders. Technique, not horsepower, ruled the day.
Women riders, supported by bikes from Enduro Greece, tackled the course as well—confident, deliberate, and proof that adventure motorcycling is expanding in all the right ways.
Boudros, always composed, demonstrated measured throttle, perfect balance, and the calm assurance that makes difficult obstacles appear simple. A lesson to all: the motorcycle is capable; the rider must rise to meet it.

Three winners emerged from the big-twin category and received gifts from Most Wanted Warehouse, GS Traveler, and BMW Vagianelis.
Reflections — The Spirit That Keeps MMM Alive
Across the three days, one thing never changed: smiles. Not forced or posed—real, earned smiles from riders who genuinely love motorcycling, travel enduro culture, and the raw satisfaction of challenging terrain.
It is this energy that inspires Mythical Routes to extend the loops, push the technical elements further, and explore the outer limits of what modern adventure motorcycles can do.

And it is this atmosphere that connects Greece to the “Mother Rally” in the United States, continuing an international exchange of ideas that keeps March Moto Madness real, relevant, and rider-driven. The 2019 edition of March Moto Madness Greece was a celebration of community, capability, and the pure joy of adventure riding.
For anyone who believes motorcycles are meant to explore dirt, conquer technical terrain, and connect people, this event remains one of the most meaningful gatherings of the spring.
