TRAILMATES

OUR FELLOW ADVENTURERS

Meet our Trailmates

Our Trailmates are kindred adventurers from around the world — old friends, new companions, and storytellers who ride for the love of discovery. They’re not part of a touring company but part of something bigger: a shared passion for exploring the unknown, uncovering history, and inspiring the adventure community. From cross-continent journeys to weekend mountain escapes, each Trailmate brings their own style, story, and spirit — reminding us that every road is better when shared. Because in the end, it’s not just about the destination, but who’s riding beside you.

Every great ride is made better by the people who share it.

Tan Berk Kurtcebe

Tan was born in 1979 in Istanbul, Turkey. He studied Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. In 2001 he went to Los Angeles to attend the world-renowned American Film Institute Conservatory and earned a master's Degree in Production Design in Film. After returning home in 2005 he established himself as one of the leading commercial directors, mainly shooting TV spots for major local and global brands such as Toyota, Fiat, ING Bank, Axa Insurance, Media Markt, L’Oreal, Pantene, Lipton, Faber Castell, Ford, Kinder, Danone, U.S. Polo Assn. and many more.

When he’s not behind the camera, he’s out riding adventure motorcycles and free camping under the stars. A long-time Mythical Routes collaborator and friend, he co-created ADV Hellas and the upcoming ADV Anatolia documentaries — both non-profit initiatives built to inspire and guide adventure riders exploring Hellas and Turkey every year.

Dimitris Maris

A long-time friend and close collaborator, Dimitris is the creative mind behind most of the Mythical Routes video material. With over fifteen years of experience in broadcast television, cinema, and digital media, he combines technical mastery with a sharp storytelling instinct.

An enthusiastic and tireless tarmac-oriented rider, Dimitris has recently embraced the world of multi-day overland expeditions — bringing his camera, his humor, and his relentless energy to every journey. As a core member of our inner circle, he plays a vital role in shaping both the stories we tell and the adventures we live.

Alex Mamouzelos

A methodical mind and seasoned overland rider, Alex is the logistical backbone of our Overland Expeditions. An accountant by profession, he brings precision, foresight, and risk awareness to every journey — overseeing planning, budgeting, routing, and on-the-ground coordination with quiet efficiency.

With extensive solo riding experience across the Balkans and beyond, Alex understands long-distance travel not as theory, but as lived practice. His deep familiarity with border crossings, daily pacing, contingencies, and regional realities ensures that each expedition runs smoothly, allowing the rest of the team to focus on the ride itself. Calm, reliable, and relentlessly prepared, he turns complex journeys into coherent, executable adventures.

Giannis has been a Mythical Routes Ambassador since 2017 and a significant contributor to our Alexandria Eschate Expedition.
