KTM LC8 Owners Rally Greece

KTM LC8 Owners Rally Greece

In 2015, Mythical Routes was commissioned by the KTM Owners Club of Greece and Most Wanted Warehouse (the Klim distributor for Greece) to organize an adventure travel event for the Hellenic Orange family. This event was designed to serve as the Greek counterpart to the well-known "LC8 Rally Western Alps," which is organized by the extensive LC8 community throughout Europe.

Our event was officially named "KTM LC8 Rally Greece" and received the blessing and support of KTM Greece.

The KTM LC8 Rally Central Greece 2015 took place over the weekend of October 17 and 18, we began our journey from Defner refuge, venturing northwest into the stunning landscapes of the National Park of Mount Parnassos. Our route took us through picturesque villages, with a planned refueling stop in Drosochori. Eventually, we reached the charming town of Gravia. From there, we continued towards Kaloskopi, navigating around the northern edges of Mount Giona. The first stretch of our trip covered over 150 kilometers of gravel roads, offering a delightful challenge filled with a sense of unpredictability—true to the spirit of any adventure.

After a well-deserved break for coffee and light snacks, our fatigue from the mountain's demands began to fade. Energized, we mounted our trusty orange bikes once more and headed toward the eastern village of Daphne, followed by Argiria. There, our journey on gravel roads came to an end, and a wave of hunger washed over us as we set our sights on Makrakomi for a hearty dinner. As the evening unfolded, we encountered an unexpected twist—a luxurious stay at a five-star hotel complete with a spa! The receptionist's puzzlement was evident when ten muddy adventurers, covered in dust and grime from the day, arrived, eagerly waiting for the keys to their rooms. That night was spent cozied up by the fireplace, sharing laughter and tales of our exploits over copious amounts of beverages, further solidifying our bonds as friends and riders.

The following morning arrived, and we woke up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day's challenges. Our day started with a smooth stretch of road leading to Karpenissi, where we refueled and enjoyed our second-morning coffee—a cherished ritual in Greek road culture. From there, we began our ascent toward Steni and Kerasohori, where the road alternated between exciting gravel paths and winding asphalt, providing breathtaking views of the mountainous terrain.

As we arrived in Krenti, the real excitement began when we ventured onto the rough dirt trail leading to Agrafa. It was there that we met up with friends from Karditsa, who joined us for the afternoon coffee and snacks. This delightful break added a refreshing pause to our journey.

With a few additional members now on board, we pressed on to Kamaria, where the trails followed the mountain ridge that gracefully curved toward the Church of St. Nicholas of Agrafa. As the sun began to set, we started our descent, pausing for a revitalizing fish dinner just before reaching Belokomiti. With our energy replenished, we braced ourselves for the long journey ahead—over 400 kilometers of tarmac awaited us before we could finally return home.
